GPD Pocket screen fails to turn on

My GPD Pocket (Win 10 version) won't boot, or maybe boots, but nothing displays on the screen. Have tried the external HDMI to a TV, but still nothing. It's as if the screen is turned off as there is a faint hum after powering on. Are there any diagnostics or any way to test/recover? Any other suggestions?

It's possible that the battery line is loose. Please open the back cover and check the battery line.
