GPD Pocket: resolution for pops/audio issues on Windows when using jack output (headphones/ext. speakers)
Hi,
Here's how I solved the issue I had with jack output on Windows :
Issue : pops, strange sounds, intermittent cuts on audio when using the jack output go the GPD Pocket
Resolution steps :
1. Downloaded additional driver provided on GPDs firmware page : https://mega.nz/#!wA5BmLoK!0tN6fbNdXn4mHGVICE4bR8q2_cZ0HYATcCPYP01icyc
2. Extracted the archive and launched the included installer
3. Also installed manually the Realtec Codec driver by going inside Windows' Device Settings and opening the Realtek driver's properties, choosing update driver and browsing to the extracted folder of the driver download
4. Reboot of the GPD.
And problem solved, now my jack output sounds as expected
Thanks GPD for the fixed driver though it would be nice if you could document a bit or maybe improve the installer for it to actually install both the ST & Realtek codec drivers.
Also it would be nice to build an image to reset with an updated Windows 10 + all the fixed drivers, and to ship any new GPD with this image preinstalled.
